Maltrato en la infancia y consumo de alcohol en adolescentes

Resumen

El presente estudio tiene como propósito describir la relación entre el maltrato en la
infancia y el consumo de alcohol, además de conocer el efecto del maltrato en la infancia sobre
el consumo de alcohol en los adolescentes. La muestra se conformo por 688 adolescentes
seleccionados a través de un muestreo aleatorio estratificado. Los intrumentos de medición
utilizados fueron el Cuestionario de Maltrato Infantil (Bernstein & Fink, 1998) y la Prueba de
Identificación de Trastornos Debidos al Consumo de Alcohol (AUDIT [De la Fuente &
Kershenobich, 1992]). El análisis y procesamiento de la información se realizó a traves del
paquete estadístico SPSS versión 21. Entre los hallazgos principales se encontraron relaciones
significativas entre el maltrato y el consumo dependiente y dañino de alcohol. Asimismo, se
encontro efecto entre el abuso físico y el consumo de alcohol en los adolescentes.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to describe the relationship between childhood
maltreatment and alcohol consumption, as well as the effect of child abuse on adolescent
alcohol consumption. The sample consisted of 688 adolescents selected through a stratified
random sampling.

The measurement instruments used were the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire
(Bernstein & Fink, 1998) and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT [De la
Fuente & Kershenobich, 1992]). The analysis and processing of the information was done
through the statistical package SPSS version 21. Among the main findings, significant
relationships were found between abuse and dependent and harmful alcohol consumption.
Likewise, an effect was found between physical abuse and alcohol consumption in adolescents.
