¿El principio del fin o el inicio de vivir? Valorando la vida después del VIH

Resumen

Introducción: La experiencia de vivir con VIH (Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana),
permite encontrar detrás del sufrimiento, una oportunidad para generar una mirada que lleva a
valorar y resignificar el sentido de vida. Objetivo: El propósito fue comprender si la
experiencia de tener VIH, hace que las personas resignifiquen su sentido para vivir. Método:
Estudio cualitativo y fenomenológico a través de 10 entrevistas a profundidad a personas que
viven con VIH (PVVIH) y que acuden al grupo CONVIHVE en Morelia, México. Resultados:
Del análisis de contenido emergieron dos dimensiones de significado de ser PVVIH: mi vida
antes del VIH, mi vida después del VIH. Conclusiones: El diagnóstico de VIH resignifica el
sentido de la Vida. Los participantes tuvieron un antes y un después del VIH en su historia, al
adentrarse a un proceso crónico, esto les permite reencontrarse desde una perpectiva interior
en el ámbiro físico, emocional y espritual.

Abstract

Introduction: The experience of living with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), allows
us to find behind the suffering, an opportunity to generate a look that leads to value and re-
signify the meaning of life. Objective: was to understand if the experience of having HIV
makes people re-signify their meaning to live. Method: qualitative and phenomenological
study in which 10 in-depth interviews were conducted with people living with HIV (PLHIV)
who attend the CONVIHVE group in Morelia, Mexico. Results: two dimensions of meaning
of being PLHIV emerged from the content analysis: my life before HIV, my life after HIV.
Conclusions: HIV diagnosis redefines the meaning of Life. The participants had a before and
after of HIV in their history, when entering a chronic process, this allows them to rediscover
themselves from an interior perspective in the physical, emotional and spiritual ambit.
