COVID 19 y su Impacto en el Consumo de Drogas: Revisión Sistemática

Resumen

Para enfrentar la pandemia de la COVID-19 a nivel mundial se adoptaron medidas
como el aislamiento social y la cuarentena para mitigar y contener la propagación del virus.
Sin embargo estas medidas también provocaron alteraciones en la vida de las personas a nivel
personal, familiar y social las cuales puede provocar alteraciones en la salud mental y esto
potenciar el consumo de drogas. La literatura sobre este fenomeno es escasa, por tal motivo se
realizó una revisión sistemática con el objetivo de identificar el impacto del COVID19 sobre
el consumo de drogas en la población. Los resultados mostraron que existe un incremento en
los problemas de salud mental, así como disminución de redes sociales. También se identificó
la población vulnerable, la necesidad de tratamiento a personas con adicción durante la
pandemia y se evidenciaron algunos retos en el sistema de salud.

Abstract

COVID-19 worldwide, measures such as social isolation and quarantine were adopted to
mitigate and contain the spread of the virus. However, these measures also caused alterations
in the lives of people at a personal, family and social level, which can cause alterations in
mental health and this promote drug consumption. The literature on this phenomenon is scarce,
for this reason a systematic review was carried out with the aim of identifying the impact of
COVID19 on drug consumption in the population.

The results showed that there is an increase in mental health problems, as well as a decrease in
social networks. The vulnerable population was also identified, the need to treat people with
addiction during the pandemic and some challenges in the health system were identified.
